To be or not to be an immigrant?

If you are a Dutch and have lost your job because of a Pole, Bulgarian or Romanian, now you have a chance to express your anger. Anti-immigration Freedom Party launched a website, where the citizens can write about their problems with immigrants. Last week Italian party Northern League announced that they plan to create a website where the citizens will be able to complain about immigrants. It seems that this kind of protest has become very popular in Europe, especially in the West. Some may ask themselves why this is happening now. Since the fall of the Berlin wall and the changes in Eastern Europe, millions of people have emigrated to Western Europe. These people usually agree with any work and have no special requirements. But the problem with the integration is still present, and yet there is no solution to it.

Bulgaria and Romania became European members in 2007. Some of the old countries in the union still do not allow citizens from the Balkans to work legally in their countries. Of course, illegal workers continue to work. It is clear that the western world needs this kind of people and no one can even imagine the old democracies without them. However, in the last two years, the populist and anti-immigrant party in Europe became very popular. In 2011 Swedish member of nationalist party Andreas Brejvik killed 91 people, and the reason he gave was immigrants.

Now let me answer the question - how is this kind of behavior possible? On the one hand, as we know, some events are mostly to occur when society feels optimistic about the future. Some examples of these are alliances with other countries (unions), high buildings, globalization, and friendship. On the other hand, when we feel pessimistic about the future, we tend to destroy the unions and have more anti-globalization moods. Currently, the world is in such a situation. Global social mood is strongly negative, and this is visible - the movement Occupy Wall Street, anti-governmental protests, ACTA protest. Meanwhile, the European leaders are trying to save the union with billions of euros. But is it enough to pay some money?

Socionomics is a science that could give us the answer to this and other questions. We could not say with precision whether an event will occur. We can only say that an event is likely to happen when people are optimistic or pessimistic. In this line of thought, a deepening crisis could lead to many such events.
